Today we are looking at Equivalent fractions.

When looking at fractions we found out that two quarters (2/4) is the same as one half (1/2).

Can you prove this?

Below there are two different activities for you to choose from. 



Activity one:

Find different things you can use to prove that a half is equal to 2 quarters. Cut a pizza/cake, share raisins, grapes, lego out into halves and quarters. Put them into two groups and four groups. Remember when you are finding 2/4 you are sharing the objects into 4 equal groups and then you need two of the groups to get your answer. 

Some numbers you could find 1/2 and 2/4 of:

4, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28

Extra Tricky: 80, 88, 100
