I’m not locally born originally coming from a small Yorkshire town to work a summer season at the Waverly Hotel in Gt Yarmouth in 1968, this is where I met my husband John, a local lad from Gorleston. I have lived on the Magdalen Estate for 47 years and I suppose can now be classed as a local.

I have 2 daughters and 3 grandchildren who all have gone to local schools. My career journey brought me into many of the Norfolk schools starting initially as a kitchen assistant at Oriel High (Ormiston Venture) when both my children had started school. Following on from this I went back to college and gained my City & Guilds professional Chefs qualifications and also studied for 5 years to gain my professional management qualification. Throughout my career I have had a wide range of experience in managing many different aspects of catering across Norfolk.

Since my retirement I have more time now to spend doing the things I love most like gardening, cooking, reading, keep fit, travelling and of course my role as Chair of Governors at Peterhouse School.
